Ellie relishes Stoke’s Big Feast

Today Dr Ellie Chowns, the Green Party MEP for the West Midlands, who is spending August touring the region while the European Parliament is on its summer break, visited The Big Feast 2019. This annual free festival of arts and performance is held in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent.

Ellie spent the day taking in the diverse performances and local businesses Stoke-on-Trent has to offer, making sure to support local café RAWR whilst exploring Hanley.

Ellie told us, “It was just wonderful to see Stoke-on-Trent full of such amazing creativity! Acrobatics, theatre, dance, music, marching bands parading through the city centre with people following on behind – what a great day!”

“I especially loved Zircus Morsa with their wonderful acrobatic story of learning to live life in balance. And the percussion on the big wheel was extraordinary! Congratulations to everyone involved: performers, organisers, volunteers, and everyone else behind the scenes who helped to make this such a brilliant festival.“
