West Midlands Youth Climate Assembly
On Wednesday 30th October 2019, Ellie hosted 30 young people (aged 16-18) for a Youth Climate Assembly, to see how young people from across the West Midlands would deal with the climate crisis.
The event took place at the Birmingham Midlands Institute, where experts in food, housing, transport and energy spoke to participants about the options available to them and their contexts. The event lasted the whole day, with students giving up their holiday time to contribute to the discussions on climate action – who said young people aren’t interested in politics?!

After the event, the group decided to come together and make a report of their findings and recommendations. Ellie is pleased to present the report written and compiled by the dedicated young people who want action on the climate crisis.
