Youth Citizens’ Assembly for a Green New Deal

On Wednesday 30th October, Ellie was joined by 30 young people (aged 16-18) from across the West Midlands to discuss possible solutions to the climate emergency through a citizen’s assembly.

The Youth Citizens’ Assembly examined four areas of policy, Transport, Energy, Food and Housing. Each topic was introduced by an expert in the relevant policy matters, who was then on hand to offer advice and guidance.

The attendees came from all over the West Midlands, giving up their holiday to debate complex policy issues. The four working groups proposed various solutions, which will be released later in a report compiled by them,
